Our Ecology wines’ logo incorporates the Khoisan symbols of Earth, Wind and Water as testimony of PaardenKloof’s commitment to conservation. All the Ecology wines carry the Sustainability Seal which speaks to our nature conservation efforts and our regenerative farming practices. Our Ecology range of wines are fynbos-driven, with tropical and floral notes. A light oaking regime ensures soft tannins and juicy, fruit-forward profiles.
The wines are easy drinking and pair well with favourite South African dishes.
PaardenKloof’s premium range of wines are handcrafted with care to bring terroir-expressive wines to life which embody the natural elements of our unique hidden valley and maritime region. From the freshness and crispness of the Sauv Blancs to the rich, complex and classic styles of the reds, these wines are benchmark cool climate wines.
The wines are 100% varietal expressive, as well as single vineyard wines. Wines can only be classified as single vineyard when the vineyard block spans no more than five hectares.
We feature the artwork of Peter Clarke, one of the great black artists of our country, on the back label.
Ataqua, the name given to PaardenKloof ’s Reserve Range of wines, embodies a rich Khoisan history. Ataqua is the collective name of indigenous Khoisan and Khoi-Khoi tribes that lived between the Cape of Good Hope and Knysna for thousands of years before the Dutch arrived on our shores. We choose the best barrels from our already refined winemaking style to honour these communities and their wisdoms. They understood our flora, fauna and the benefits of the over 2600 plant species found in our area better than any modern society can claim to understand. The wines
are complex, elegant and limited in quantity.
